Arrest of John Brown of Holyoke Causes Postponement of His Wedding.

Two marriage licenses to different women have been issued to John Brown, who, according to the Holyoke directory, is employed by the W. B. Whiting coal company, with a residence at 91 Elm Street, and as a result Brown is in the queerest mix-up of his life. Not long ago he fell in love with a Holyoke woman, and all went so well that he appeared at the office of the city clerk and got a license to marry her. The marriage was delayed, just why will come out probably in the police court this morning. Meantime Brown fell in love with another woman, and appeared once more at the office of the city clerk, according to the police, and took out another license, with the first one still in his possession. Last night he was to have been married to the woman named in license No 2. Evidently the woman named in license No 1 heard of it, for she entered a complaint yesterday against Brown, charging him with the larceny of $5. The wedding did not take place last light, because Officer Driscoll served a warrant on the accused. Brown spent the night in the lockup, and will appear in the police court this morning.
