1924 Yearbook

This HolyokeMass.com blog is only one small part of history available for viewing on HolyokeMass.com.

The HolyokeMass.com website was started in the mid 1990s when I began to digitize some material in my personal Holyoke collection for online viewing. Around the same time I also began creating cemetery inventories (a list of names and gravestones in a database) for Holyoke and other cemeteries.

The reason why is pretty simple. I love Holyoke and like having an element of preservation available to the online community. For a number of years I maintained genealogical websites for a non-profit national organization that focused on western MA counties. The sites essentially offered some assistance to people researching from distant locations. As a genealogy researcher myself, I know how difficult it can be to work on family history from a distance.

Today I want to highlight one online resource you may enjoy looking at, the Holyoke High School Yearbook for 1924. You may find some of your ancestors in this class — a few of my extended genealogical connections are depicted — in addition to my grandfather (A former player for the Falcos) who may be seen in the soccer team photo.

You can see a list of all the HolyokeMass.com history resources at this link: http://holyokemass.com/hmhistory.html.

Enjoy!
