Holyoke. — A bill turning over the Mt. Tom Reservation to the state Department of Natural Resources will be introduced into the legislature this winter, Rep. Edward McColgan of Northampton told the Hampshire County Commissioners.

The commissioners, who now operate the reservation, have been criticized by several conservation groups for its alleged lack of interest in the property.  During the past three months, James Brook of Northampton has shown three slide shows to the commissioners, illustrating improper garbage dumps, erosion and vandalism at the reservation.
