Housing, Corner of Hampden & Nonotuck<\/p><\/div>\n

Construction started Wednesday on vacant property at Hampden and Nonotuck Streets in Holyoke, where a 40 unit housing development for the elderly will be located. The state financed project of five two-story buildings is being constructed by Fred Findlen & Sons of Dedham. Ground breaking ceremonies are set this morning at 10 when Mayor Resnic will lead housing and other officials in dedicating the side. A shovel and trucks were on the job Wednesday, however, opening up the first foundation hole.<\/p>\n
