More than 400 at Celebration and Dinner<\/strong><\/p>\n Holyoke Jewry in excess of 400 attended the dinner last night at the War Memorial lounge to mark the “ground breaking” for the proposed synagog to be erected on the site of the present building at Maple and Cabot streets.<\/p>\n Rabbi Hyman J. Landau of North Adams, who is to come here this summer as rabbi, was the principal speaker and he gave a talk on the strong manifestation of the faith of Israel that prompted the plans for the erection of the new place of worship.<\/p>\n Isador M. Ziff presided as toastmaster and remarks pertinent to the various phases of the building program were given by Jacob L.
