Last year, <strong>Samuel J. Boardway<\/strong> bought about 3 1\/2 acres of land on Roosevelt terrace, a part of the old Merrick property.  Aside from the spot occupied by his house, he cultivated the land and this fall dug about 800 bushels of potatoes, which are worth this year about $600.
