{"id":3236,"date":"2012-01-07T08:51:29","date_gmt":"2012-01-07T15:51:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/holyokemass.com\/?p=3236"},"modified":"2012-01-07T08:51:29","modified_gmt":"2012-01-07T15:51:29","slug":"holyoke-woman-was-not-blind","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/holyokemass.com\/blog\/2012\/01\/07\/holyoke-woman-was-not-blind\/","title":{"rendered":"Holyoke Woman Was Not Blind"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>January 6, 1922<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Specialist of That City Who Examined Her Eyes Says She Was Only Nearsighted<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding all the newspaper publicity that has been given to miss Doris Belanger, 21, of 580 South Bridge Street relative to regaining her eyesight through prayer after having been supposedly blind for the last six weeks, a local specialist who examined Miss Belanger&#8217;s eyes previous to the time of the reported recovery of sight, says she was never actually blind, but was very near-sighted.   She is now able to see somewhat better than she has in the past, but has not actually recovered lost sight.
