The ad  to the left  is from the February 4th <em>Springfield Republican<\/em>, advertising coats for Albert Steiger &#038; Co.   Naturally I remember Steiger&#8217;s from the High Street location and shopped there often over the years.   I always think of the wonderful old elevator and the elevator operator.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, this ad respresents a sale on coats, &#8220;Handsome Tailored Coats at $55.00 (regular values up to $87.50).   Finely tailored coats of Pollyanna, Ermine and Bolivia with throw collars and stitching.   Brown, navy and black with beautiful silk linings.
