Mrs. Richard Towne<\/strong> is to play the lead in the old fashioned melodrama, “She Was Only a Farmer’s Daughter or Adrift on the Ocean of Life<\/em>,” which will be featured in the program of the “Gaities of 1883<\/em>” to be presented February 3 in the Valley Arena, under the auspices of the Junior Service Corps.<\/p>\n

Others in the cast with Mrs. Towne who plays “Mary, the farmer’s daughter,” are Norman Thompson<\/strong> as Joe Brandon, her father; Jane Clark<\/strong>, as Helene, a friend of Mary’s; Edward Kessler<\/strong> in the part of Oliver Oakhead, the squire; Brewster Towne<\/strong>, as Danny Daunton, a noble youth; Jack McElwain<\/strong>, playing the part of Lieut. Truhart; Ralph Ratlan<\/strong> as Capt. Reid; Wayne Alderman<\/strong> as De Silva; Mrs. Henry V. Burgee<\/strong> as Aubeah, a servant.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Frank Button<\/strong> will play Josephine, daughter of Manuel, and James Cronk<\/strong> will take the part of Manuel, a planter in Santa Domingo; Terry Ba<\/strong>gg will appear as Nicholas Nightshade, and Bill Millen <\/strong>is playing the part of Sam Stoneheart; Norris Sutherland<\/strong> will be Ralph Ratlan and Bill Kessler<\/strong> will play the part of a sailor.<\/p>\n

Atty. Addison B. Green<\/strong> will be master of ceremonies and also on the program will be the male quartet, “The Gashouse Boys,” Tony Caulet, Joseph Cauley, Michael O’Brien<\/strong> and Eddie Vallancourt<\/strong>; choruses will include the “Can-Can Girls” with Miss Rhoda Chapin, Mrs. Brewster Towne, Misses Alice Newton, Clarissa Green, Barbara Boslen, Virginia Boley, Helen McGrath, Dorcas Hill, Isabelle Adie<\/strong> and Ann McIntosh<\/strong>; the “Amazons” which will include the above group and also Mrs. Terry Bagg <\/strong>and Miss Doris Young<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The “Cake Walk” group includes Douglas Adie<\/strong> and Clarissa Green<\/strong>, the leads and the Misses Mackintosh, Daley, Janet Briggs, Adie and Albert Alderman, Bill Kessler and Charles Blumenauer<\/strong>. The “Tintypes” will include Robert Goss, Miss Frances Buckley, Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hopkins, Mrs. Harold B. Wickersham<\/strong> will be featured in “Listen to the Mockingbird” and the Gibson Girls will include Mrs. William Hubbard, Mrs. William Bowlen, Mrs. Johnson Curtis, Mrs. Clifford Lyon, Mrs. Frank Taylor<\/strong> and Mrs. Morton Hull<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
