Wirt Dies At His Home<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Edward R. Wirt of 63 Fairfield Avenue died this evening at this home. He had been ill about two years. Mr. Wirt had been employed as a salesman for the Holyoke Sales Company since 1932. He was born in Lowell, January 27, 1891, son of the late Edward R. Wirt and attended the Lowell Public Schools. He was graduated from the Lowell Textile School and came to Holyoke in 1912, taking employment for several years with the Lyman Mills. He later became associated with Edward F. Robertson &amp; Son, cotton specialists of Boston, acting for them in Utica, New York and Lewiston, Maine.<\/p>\n<p>He was a member of the AEF, serving in France with Co. A 18th machine gun battalion from July, 1918, to June 1919. He was a member of the New York Athletic club and American Legion post 754. He is survived by his widow, Gladys (Bartlett) Wirt; a sister, Mrs. F. Scott Carpenter of Watertown; a brother, Donald R. Wirt of Gulfport, Florida. The funeral will be in charge of Edward E.
