Ronald Streeter, Hardware Firm partner, Dies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holyoke —<\/strong> Ronald L. Streeter<\/strong> of 41 Princeton St., formerly of 126 Pearl St., died Monday night in a nursing home. Born in Walloomsac, New York, April 18, 1886, he was the son of the late Uriah N. and Elizabeth (Hale) Streeter<\/strong> and moved with his parents to Greenfield at an early age and attended Greenfield schools.<\/p>\n

He was engaged in the hardware business most of his life. Entering the business in Greenfield, he came to Holyoke about 50 years ago and first worked for the former Osborne Hardware Company. In 1928 he became a partner in the Dragon and Streeter Hardware Company, at 326 High St., and remained in this partnership for 10 years. He then joined the J. Russell and Co., and worked there for about 5 years, retiring a few years ago.<\/p>\n

Mr. Streeter served as a Boy Scout troop committeeman for 10 years. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and a head usher at the church for many years. He was also a member of William Whiting Lodge of Masons.<\/p>\n

On September 22, 1915, he married Elsie M. Bagg<\/strong> of West Springfield, who died in February 1958. He leaves a son, Ronald M.<\/strong>, of Fairfield, Conn., a daughter, Mrs. Sidney K. Pierce<\/strong> of West Hartford, Conn; six grandchildren.<\/p>\n

The funeral will take place Thursday at 2 at First Congregational Church. Rev. Norman R. Farnum, Jr.<\/strong>, will officiate. Burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery. Edward F. Day<\/strong> funeral home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no calling hours. Friends who desire may send contributions to the American Heart Association.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Ronald Streeter<\/strong><\/p>\n

Holyoke, February 7 —<\/strong> Mrs. Elsie M. (Bagg) Streeter<\/strong>, 73, wife of Ronald L. Streeter<\/strong> of 126 Pearl St., died today in Holyoke Hospital. She was born in West Springfield, Dec. 15, 1885, daughter of the late R. Mather and Mary (Bartholomew) Bagg<\/strong>, and she came to this city in 1915. She was organist for First Congregational Church in this city for 14 years and also served as substitute at the Old First Church in Springfield for many years. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and was a former member of the Holyoke Music Club. She leaves besides her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Sidney K. Pierce<\/strong> of West Hartford, Conn., one son, Ronald<\/strong> of Cleveland, Ohio, two sisters, Mrs. W. O. Johnson<\/strong> of Westfield and Miss Minnie Bagg<\/strong> of West Springfield, one brother, Elisha Bagg<\/strong> of Boston. Another brother, Fred<\/strong> of Westfield, died recently. She also leaves four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are in charge of the Edward F. Day funeral home and there will be no calling hours. Friends are requested to omit flowers\u00a0 and send contributions to the Heart Fund.<\/p>\n

The funeral will take place in First Congregational Church Sunday at 3. Burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery.<\/p>\n
