My Friend From India<\/p><\/div>\n

Tonight — At Empire Theater<\/strong>, “My Friend From India<\/em>.”
\nThe play at the Empire Theater last evening was DuSouchet’s farce-comedy, “My Friend from India,<\/em>” which is playing Holyoke at popular prices. The play is well staged , and the audience that braved the weather to attend were apparently well satisfied with the performance. It will be repeated this evening and tomorrow afternoon and evening. The annual story of the plans by ex-Congressman William Whiting<\/strong> to build a block on the site of the burned Windsor hotel has awakened from its winter sleep. Mr. Whiting said last evening that he knew nothing of it.<\/p>\n

Oscar Meno<\/strong> was sent to jail for drunkenness for one month at yesterday morning’s police court session. Two women were fined $6 each for the same offense.<\/p>\n

A.M. Potvin<\/strong> will remove his store Saturday to 317-319 Main Street. The change means enlarged quarters and doubtless enlarged business for the alderman.<\/p>\n

The F. W. Woolworth & Co.<\/strong> Holyoke store was closed all day yesterday, owing to the death of W. C. Webb<\/strong>, one of the New York managers.<\/p>\n
