Steiger & Co.’s yesterday noon, when an excited individual notified the fire department that there was a lively fire in progress. The “still alarm” apparatus accordingly went out in double quick time to the front of the block and gazes at the young woman ironing, who gazed benignly back at them in return. The apparatus then returned, and the young woman continued to iron peacefully.
