Woman Threatened With Deportation Arrives in Holyoke

Mrs. Mary Spryngel and her two children arrived last night from Ellis Island where they have been detained since December, threatened with deportation. Intervention by Congressman Allen T. Treadway on application from Attorney P. J. Garvey of Holyoke, who acted as her counsel, sufficed to have the decree of the immigration officials modified. The polish colony of Holyoke who have been watching the case with much interest, as Mrs. Spryngel lived her for years, were highly pleased at her arrival.

Mrs. Spryngel was visited by many today. She is staying for the present with Mrs. Jan Markowski of 61 Walnut Street. The children are allowed to stay until March and plans are already on foot to arrange that they be allowed to enter with the next batch of Polish immigrants.
