Child Seriously Injured
05 May 1906
A large bulldog knocked over Yvonne Gaudet, aged seven, about 3:30 yesterday afternoon in the rear of her home, 106 Center street, and the child is now in a serious condition. Two ribs on the right side were broken and the spine was also badly injured. The child was in an unconscious condition for an hour after the accident bleeding freely from the nose. She was picked up by neighbors who witnessed the accident and removed to her to her home. Drs. Morrison and McNamara were called and dressed the injuries. It is feared that internal injuries were sustained and the exact condition of the child will not be known for several days. It is said that the child was playing in the yard with several others when the dog jumped on her, knocking her with great force to the ground. No attack was made on the dog and apparently the animal was only acting in a playful mood.
