Mrs. Violet Kuehner Capelle of 2 Meadow street has received word that her husband, First Lieut. Russell B. Capelle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Capelle of Marshfield, was wounded in action in Germany on March 29. He is now hospitalized with shrapnel wounds in both legs.
Entering the service in January, 1942, and was commissioned in anti-craft artillery. He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and southern France. He went into Germany with the 7th army.
He was graduated from Dartmouth college in 1936 and was employed at the Phoenix Mutual Life Insurance company at Hartford before entering the service. The Capelles have a two-year old son, Russell Beckett Capelle, whom his father has never seen.
