Among these resources is a tombstone inventory from Smiths Ferry Cemetery. This is just one of the many images found:
One of the people buried in this plot is Mr. Frank J. Arnitz who died February 2, 1957. “Frank J. Arnitz, of Northampton Highway, Smiths Ferry, died tonight in Holyoke Hospital. He was born in South Hadley Falls Feb 24m 1879, and for nearly 50 years was employed as a weaver by the Skinner Silk Mills, retiring in 1951. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice (Hebert) Arnitz, a daughter J. Burton Reynolds of Smiths Ferry; a sister Mrs. Harry Jackson of St. Petersbirg, Fla.; a brother, Ernest S. Arnitz of Los Angeles, Cal.; and a grandson. Funeral arrangements in charge of the Edward F. Day Funeral home.”
