Frank Grennell Willcox, son of Rev. Dr. M. A. Willcox Selected.
The accompanying image presents a good likeness of Frank Grennell Willcox, who has just been selected as the new librarian for Holyoke’s fine new public library. Mr. Willcox is the son of Rev. Dr. M. A. Willcox, for the past eight years pastor of the First Baptist church at Elmwood, Holyoke, whose contributions have from time to time appeared in The Republican. He has had an all-round training as businessman, teacher, and lastly as librarian, as he is now attending the Albany library school from which place he graduates in June. He is a graduate of Colgate university of Hamilton, N.Y., in the class of 1894, and has since been in business in this city and Holyoke. He taught at Child’s Business school in Hoyoke a year, and received a diploma from that school, and taught an evening grammar school for two or three years, about a year ago taking up library work at the Albany school. He is well thought of in the city, and his acquaintance with Holyoke affairs will doubtless be of great advantage to him. He will not take hold of the work until later summer, at least, and Miss Ely will remain in charge until he takes up the work.
