And Golds File Petitions For Ejectment of Fred Vigneux, Their Tenant
Holyoke, July 7– Benjamin and Harry Gold as owners and Doris Gold, as lessor, filed petitions in ejectment proceedings today against Fred Vigneux, proprietor of a saloon at 298 Main and 171 Appleton streets, raided on several occasions by the federal officials.
It was in the cellar connected with both establishments, that quite a lot of “booze” was captured by the federal sleuths. What lends interest to the rumselling ring in Holyoke is the fact that padlock proceedings at Boston have begun against the place, and doubtless hastened the owners to a belated attempt to protect their interests. Other cases filed were as follows: A. H. Lepine against Origene Dion for $87 on an account; Thomas J. Dyer against the city for injuries received at high school, with damages of $200; Boston & Maine railroad against the Bly Transfer and Warehouse company for $557.20 on freight bills; Division I Hibernians against James Joyce for $150, over a disputed reading of the by-laws.
