A Good Investment
The story of what can be done with a comparatively small amount of land was exemplified in Holyoke this year. Last year, Samuel J. Boardway bought about 3 1/2 acres of land on Roosevelt terrace, a part of the old Merrick property. Aside from the spot occupied by his house, he cultivated the land and this fall dug about 800 bushels of potatoes, which are worth this year about $600. The total cost for the land was about $2000, and after paying for the cost of seed and labor he has a pretty good sized amount to show for interest on the sum invested.
