How many of you remember this place — or actually patronized it?
21 January 1971
A two-alarm fire Thursday night destroyed a second story bar and seriously damaged a social club for deaf persons underneath it.
Firemen from two ladder trucks and three pumpers under the direction of Deputy Leonard Angers poured eater into The Heidelberg at 416 High Street shortly after the 9:52 p.m. alarm.
The Heidelberg was closed because of a four day suspension of its license ordered by the Licensing Board because of an incident there, according to a fire department spokesman.
