December 15, 1993 — Leroy A. Woodmansee, 99, of 19 View St., a retired night watchman for the former Church Manufacturing Co. in Willimansett, died on Thursday in Holyoke Hospital. Born and schooled in Escoheag, R.I., he lived here from 1923. He was an Army veteran of World War I. His wife, the former Vera Place, died in 1944. He leaves two daughters, Marjory Mitton of South Hadley and Leona St. John of Holyoke; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be on Thursday morning at Messier Funeral Home, with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service.
December 13, 1943 — Mrs. Vera Woodmansee of N. View Street, wife of Leroy A., died late last evening at the Palmer Memorial Hospital, Boston, after a few weeks’ illness. She was born in Cranston, R. I., and lived there and in Providence until coming to Holyoke 19 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city. besides her husband she leaved two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence A. Mitton of this city and Miss Leona Ruth Woodmansee at home. The funeral will be held at the Edward F. Day funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2. Rev. J. Hubert Porter will officiate and burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
