Summer Schedule in Effect
Street Cars Will Run Under New Arrangement To-day.
The summer schedule will be put into effect on the Holyoke street railway to-day, making but few changes on the lines. On the South Hadley Falls line, as last summer, the cars will be run on 20-minute time after 8 in the morning, leaving on the hour and every 20 minutes thereafter. On the Northampton line 20 minute time will be in effect, the cars leaving the city hall at five minutes past the hour, 25 and 25. The Chicopee Falls line will be on 20 minute time, the cars leaving the city hall on the hour, 20 and 40 minutes past, and will leave the Falls at 10, 30 and 50 past the hour.
The riding on the street cars was heavy yesterday, but not quite as heavy as a week ago. Three cars were run in a string to Mountain park, but although hundreds visited the park yesterday, yet a larger number were present the Sunday before. The riding to Hampton ponds was heavier, of anything, than a week ago, and three cars in a string were run during the afternoon and evening. Trailers were run on the Northampton line and on the South Hadley Center and Amherst line the riding was good. The Springfield cars were loaded as usual. On the Summit house at Mt. Tom there were many visitor yesterday, aside from the suburban press association, who were served with a dinner there late in the afternoon. The real summer riding has but just begun on the street cars and from now until fall the local company will have their hands full to work for their patrons on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and holidays.

Monat To Be Tried Soon
Case Against Holyoke Man for Murder to Open This Month
Before Supreme Court Justice Tompkins, presiding at Poughkeepsie, N.Y., yesterday, John F. Ringwood, attorney of Napoleon Monat, formerly of Holyoke, who confessed to the murder of John Kliff, a restaurant-keeper at Hopewell Junction, last February, said that his defense would be that Monat was insane at the time of the murder. He asked that the trial be put over until another term, but the court ordered the case ready for trial the third week in June. The attorney for George Conrow, Monat’s alleged accomplice will appear before Justice Keogh at White Plains to-morrow and apply for a change of venue, contending that the prisoners cannot obtain a fair trial in Dutchess county.

Louis Zass Located
Word was received yesterday morning that Louis Zass, who has been missing for the past month, had been located in New York, and the young man will probably be brought to his home in Holyoke within a few days.
