[The Clark family hailed from Lochee, Dundee, Scotland. James T. Clark (funeral notice below), father of 10 children, along with his brother George Clark , father of 11 children both lived in Holyoke with their large families. Charlotte, the widow of James T. Clark was one of four Harris sisters who immigrated from Scotland to Holyoke. Charlotte, my great-grandmother’s sister, and James would, of course be my great grand-aunt and uncle. Cause of death for James T. Clark was tuberculosis. Imagine the difficulty of being a widow with 10 children at age 46. Yes, the children worked in the mills of Holyoke. Definitely interested in hearing from you if you are a descendant of these Clark families.– Laurel]

The funeral of James T. Clark was held at his home at 80 Mosher street yesterday afternoon. Members of the Caledonians, Manchester Unity of Odd Fellows and the stonecutters’ union of Springfield were present at the services, which were largely attended. Several hymns were sung as duets. The bearers consisted of two members from each of the three societies present. Rev. E. B. Robinson officiated at the services. The burial was in the Caledonian lot at the Forestdale cemetery.
