James McElroy died at his home, 571 Dwight street, last evening after a short illness. He was born in Scotland, but came to Holyoke in 1873 and his home had since been there. He was formerly in the liquor business, but retired about 10 years ago and bought a farm in Granby where he had spent much of his time. He leaves two sons, John and Hugh, and two daughters, Ellen and Katherine, all of Holyoke. The funeral arrangements have not been completed.
