Caesar Equi Reports Theft of $300 Worth From His Apartments.

Caesar Equi, the Dwight street fruit dealer, reports the loss of about $300 worth of jewelry which was stolen from his apartments on the top floor of the Dwight street block where he lives. Among the missing article of jewelry were three gold watches, a gold neck chain, earrings, rings, necklace and breastpins. All of the jewelry was brought from Italy. Mrs. Equi left for a trip last Wednesday and put the jewelry in a bureau drawer, and returned Saturday. When she went to the bureau to get some of the jewelry to wear Sunday, she found it was missing. Mr. Equi had occupied the apartments during the whole time of his wife’s absence and had noticed nothing out of the way with the doors and windows and was at a loss to understand how the thief had gained access to the rooms. The loss was reported to the police department yesterday, and the matter will be investigated.
