[Editorial note: While it sounds as though the next line should read “walk into a bar ” I can assure you this is the original title of this article and there is perhaps some humor to be found in it. ]

A Pole, whose name is yet a grave secret, owing to his liberal potations of Poland Springs water, was the center of a small sized tornado on High street, near Suffolk, yesterday afternoon. The Pole imagined that he was the whole municipality and defied Officer lynch to arrest him. A newspaper man came to the rescue of the officer, and a bulldog owned by a man named Williams saw that “something was doing.” and with commendable zeal rushed to take a hand in the fray. By a mistake he fastened on to the newspaper man and removed a part of his trouser leg and a piece of flesh. This diversion increased the interest in the affair, and it was several minutes before the man was removed from the scene to the grateful cool of the police cell, and quiet reigned again at that section of High street.
