Some of the residents of Elmwood have interested themselves in laying out a small tract of land at the junction of Laurel and Willow streets as a park. The grading of the land has been begun and it is the intention of those interestedin the improvement to place a fountain in the center of the park and set out flowers on the tract.

From The Springfield Republican.

[Note: I’ve driven past this park a million times. Had no idea it was organized this long ago, next time in Holyoke, I’ll stop and read the signs. Does this park have a name? Image from Google maps. ]
