Three new cases of diphtheria were reported to the city board of health yesterday and as they are all in the section of the city where the disease has been prevalent so many weeks, it is thought to confirm the opinion of the board in regard to the sanitary condition of the place. The new cases are reported at 24 Jackson street, 574 Bridge street, and 25 Adams street. As the public school are now in session, it will be possible to keep a closer quarantine on the suspected contagious diseases that during the vacations, as one of the truant officers is continually at work looking after the sick children. No deaths have been reported for several days and there has also been a falling off in the number of cases reported. The board will meet today.
