I'd Like To Be An Animal in the Zoo

Eva Tanguay, the Holyoke young woman who has won fame as a comedian, will be seen at the Court Square theatre this afternoon and evening in her new musical play, “The Sambo Girl.”

[Note: though this performance was on schedule in a Springfield theater, Eva Tanguay was a much-loved Holyoke performer. Canadian born, Eva Tanguay — the “I Don’t Care” Girl — started her successful theatrical career in Holyoke and did return to perform on numerous occasions. Tanguay had an interesting life, read the Wikipedia biography or listen to what I believe may be the only recording of her signature song “I Don’t Care,” via YouTube, below. Over the years I have managed to collect some sheet music, the song above was a piece from “The Sambo Girl.”
