World Series Fever.

Holyoke, Mass. (AP) — Four Holyoke High School students have been suspended for skipping school Monday to take part in an alleged World Series ticket scalping scheme.

School officials said last night three of the four are members of the school’s football team. They added they are contemplating the suspension of seven other students.

High School Principal Henry J. Fitzpatrick said the exact number of students involved in the “seven or eight” car caravan that went to New York to purchase the tickets has not yet been determined.

Some sources siad as many as 35 may be involved with two Holyoke men who gave each youth $58.40 for the purchase of two strips of four tickets, plus $36 in salary and expenses.

[Note: The 1956 series had the New York Yankees playing the Brooklyn Dodgers. Who could have resisted?]
