John Dollar Obituary

John Dollar of 226 Old County Road, Westfield, died this afternoon at the Holyoke Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Dec 10, 1890, son of the late Alexander and Margaret (Houston) Dollar and came to this city when a young man.

He had been employed for 10 years as a stationary fireman at the Taylor Bramley Co. of Chicopee Falls. He was a member of the Grace Congregational Church of this city.

Besides his wife, Mrs. Helen (Steadward) Dollar, he leaves four daughters, Miss Margaret Dollar at home, Mrs. Frank Stansewski and Mrs. Carl Laudato, both of Westfield, and Mrs. William McKinzie of Crestview, Fla., a sister Mrs. James Smith of Holyoke, two brothers, Alexander Dollar of Clarkville, Pa., and James McGarvie of Holyoke; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will take place at the Alger funeral home Tuesday afternoon at 2 with services to be conducted by Rev. S. Ross Milley. Burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery.
