Holyoke, April 7 — Mrs. Lena (Cathro) Campbell, 71, of 19 Landers Street., South Hadley Falls, died this afternoon in Holyoke Hospital. She was the widow of Harry Campbell who died in January 1957. She was born in Newport, Scotland. on Nov 30, 1887, came to Holyoke in 1909 and resided here until moving to South Hadley 19 months ago. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and served as former leader of Group W and former president of the Missionary Society of the church. During World War II, she was active in British War Relief and was a member of Ladies Auxiliary to Clan McClaren and a former member of the Daughters of Caledonia.
She leaves two daughters, the Misses Lena and Jean Campbell at home; one son, William of Easthampton, two sisters, Mrs. Alexander W. Adamson of Ft. Morgan, Col., and Mrs. John A. Cormie of Manchester, Conn.; one brother Alexander H. Cathro of this city, and several nieces and nephew. Funeral will be in the First Presbyterian Church Thursday at 2. Rev. James J. Anilosky will officiate. Burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery. Calling hours at the Alger funeral home will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10.
