Tombstone of Thomas Standen-Lilias Watson

Tombstone of Thomas Standen and Lillias Watson

Above is the tombstone for Thomas Standen and his wife Lilias Watson in Forestdale Cemetery. The obituary for Lillias is in the paper on April 27, 1927 was in the form of a funeral notice, which read as follows:

The funeral of Mrs. Thomas Standen will be held in the Skinner memorial chapel at 2:30 this afternoon. Rev. R. R. Wicks conducting the service and the burial will be in Foresdale Cemetery.

Many of the older obituaries and funeral notices have wives listed only under the name of her husband, making it slightly more difficult to research and a resource that will offer clues, but few details.
