Reports have been current in Holyoke this week that Miss Eva Tanguay of “Sambo Girl” fame was negotiating for the purchase of the Kenilworth place owned by Mrs. Kate Taft on upper Northampton street. John H. Woods telephoned yesterday to Mrs. Taft’s representative, and learned definitely that the place is not for sale. “It could not be bought for $100,000,” was the encouraging answer to Mr. Wood’s query. Miss Tanguay is now said to be talking of buying a large place at Ashfield. She also has looked at A. E. Esleeck’s place on Northampton street.
