Are You a Holyoke Voter?

by Laurel | November 7th, 2011

Though I no longer live in Holyoke, the election tomorrow is important.

If you are planning to vote, please take a moment to look at this short document — a copy of the Holyoke Anti-Casino Voter’s Guide.

While the Casino sounds like a good option for Holyoke, it seems to be another case of big business coming in with some negative effects on the city.

My husband and I now live in the Finger Lakes and are facing a somewhat similar situation where Hydrofracking is all but ready to begin here, despite a huge disapproval by local citizenry. Just watch the film Gasland to know more about why.

A big difference is between the two issues is that you, registered voters of Holyoke, have an opportunity to have your opinion weigh in — we do not get to vote on our Hydrofracking issue. So take advantage of the power of voting.

Vote with your heart, but be informed — click on the Holyoke Anti Casino Voter’s Guide to help make your decision. It is a short document to read, thank you in advance.
