Holyoke — The first Eastern Ski Meet for youngsters was held Wednesday at Mount Tom ski area under auspices of Holyoke Junior Chamber of Commerce. There were nearly 50 entrants for the various events.
First place winners in the four to eight age group downhill race were Clayton Chase, eight, of Hampton Knolls Rd., and Susan Goodhue, six, of 233 Mosher St., South Hadley Falls.
First place winners in the slalom for age group nine to 12 were John Goodhue, 11, 233 Mosher St., South Hadley Falls and Jeanne Lippman, 12 of 4 Irving St.
First place winners in the giant slalom for age group 13 to 18 were John Lippmann18 of 4 Irving St., and Karen Simpter, 13, of 197 Layden Rd., Greenfield.
