Dr. Gardner Cox has just completed a genealogy of the Cox family, which is unique in that not only has he personally secured the material but has typewritten the history of the family including many interesting historical facts of general interest, and also has included copies of important documents like the first deed for land that ever passed in American, which one of his ancestors witnessed. He also has had included in the history a large number of photographs that he took himself and many others that he has obtained. The whole has been neatly bound in a fine leather binding of the removable leaf pattern. During the many years that he has been very busy compiling the volume he has visited nearly every library of size in New England and most of the probate offices. In fact, he knows the interior od most of the libraries quite as well as the Holyoke one. One day he had visit him a man of the same family name, who was also interested in the genealogy of the family and learned from him that he was one of the firm of Coxes of Lochee, near Dundee, Scotland, owners of the biggest jute manufactories in the world , where 6,000 hands are employed. In this and other ways many pleasant acquaintances have been made. The work of the doctor covers 10 generation of family history from the time of records of the first family in Bristol, where the Cox family originated.
