Celebration in City Hall

The final details in the program for the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, which will be held in the city hall the evening of the 17th, have been completed. The celebration will be under the auspices of the local societies of Hibernians. A short concert will be given by the Brightside Boys’ Band preceding the entertainment and the program will be as follows: Overture, Brightside Boys’ Band; address of welcome, County President P. J. Dowd; address, Chairman T. J. O’Connor; song, “A Nation Once Again,” John E. Lynch; song, “The Minstrel Boy,” Stephen Driscoll; Address, Mayor John H. Woods; song, “Ashore,” Miss Grace Flynn; song “Has Sorrow Thy Young Days Shaded.” John B. Gorman; address, “The Irish as World Pioneers,” Rev. John G. Coyle; song, “Mollie Bawn,” Miss Alice Brown; song, “Believe Me if all those Endearing Young Charms,” John B. Gorman; song, “When I am dreaming of Erin, I am Dreaming of You,” Stephen Driscoll; song, “Eily Mavourneen” from “The Lily of Killarney,” John E. Lynch; “God Save Ireland,” and “Star Spangled Banner,” Brightside Boys’ Band.

A benefit whist party under the auspices of the orphans’ aid society will be held in the Knights of Columbus rooms the evening of the 17th. Auction bridge, bridge and straight whist will be played and prizes will be offered to the winners. The tickets are meeting with a ready sale and a large attendance is assured.
