Andrew J. Nye, 74, died today at his home, 177 Allen Street, Springfield after a long illness. He was born at Valley Field, Canada. He came to this country when a boy and had lived since in Holyoke and Springfield. he had been employed at the Farr Alpaca company for 45 years before his retirement 10 years ago. Besides his widow, Rebecca (Martin) Nye, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. R. E. Nichols of Detroit; a sister, Mrs. John Young of South Hadley; a brother, Arthur Nye; a granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Mount Tom lodge of Masons and the Holyoke lodge of Elks. The funeral will be held at the Alger funeral home Saturday, with Rev. Franklin Knight officiating. Burial will be in Forestdale cemetery.
