The Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing company want a local school  teacher in its employ during the summer months to remain for the duration and so today dispatched a communication to the school board asking that it grant a leave of absence for the duration or at least for a year for Teacher Miss Madeline Ferriter, 26 Beacon Avenue, Smith College graduate, member of the force at Metcalf Junior High School.

Superintendent of Schools William R. Peck said today that he felt rather sure that the school board at its coming meeting would grant the request. The Westinghouse company in its letter to the superintendent stated for the past two months Miss Ferriter had been doing some rather important work and it would appreciate it if she were permitted to continue.
