Holyoke High School Baseball

Holyoke High School Baseball, 1925

All western Massachusetts sports followers this spring have their attention focused on the performances of “Lou” Shapiro and his mates. Coach “Bill? Sullivan, with practically a veteran nine, bids fair to direct his charges to a sixth consecutive Valley League pennant, a third consecutive Western Massachusetts title, all point towards a positive state championship. Much credit is due Coach Sullivan for his patience in developing such outstanding stars as Leo Shapiro, Al Grenert, “Blackie’ Moriarty, Herve St. Jean, and “Frankie” Norris. The season opened auspiciously with twin victories over St. Michael’s High and a league win over Chicopee High. We expect confidently the team will continue on to reach hitherto unheralded heights.
