Robert Mitchell, 69, died yesterday morning at his home, 10 Miller Avenue. Although Mr. Mitchell had been in failing health for some years, his condition had not been considered serious until yesterday morning, when he died after being ill but a short time. Mr. Mitchell was born in Nantucket and came to Holyoke while a young man. For a number of years he worked in the local paper mills, leaving mill work in 1886 to take up collecting for the Holyoke Furniture Company. After a year of this work he entered the employ of the late C. H. Prentiss in his tailoring establishment, giving up active work about two years ago. He was a veteran of the Civil War, serving in Company B, 48th Regiment, and was a member of the Kilpatrick Grand Army post and of the Mt. Tom Lodge of Masons. He leaves a widow. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at his late home, Rev. W. B. Oleson officiating. The burial will be in Forestdale Cemetery.
