One Holyoke Man Has a New England Telephone and the Company is Not Aware of it.
Good luck has not entirely deserted the citizens of Holyoke, and the grasping corporations do not always land on the top of the heap. Alderman Childs, who has an earnest and perpetual grouch on the telephone company, will probably be interest in learning that there is a resident on one of the apartment blocks who has so far got the nest of the company. He has had a telephone in operation for about a year, and so far has received no bill from the company for its use. His name is not listed in the book and the information operator, when asked for his number, had never heard of the name. The telephone is there, however, and is greatly appreciated, and it is probably that sooner or later the company will learn of its presence and land on the lessee. There are altogether too few of such mistakes in Holyoke.
