Three youngsters were rescued from the Connecticut river last night by a trio of boys who heard their cries for help. The rescued boys were Edward Kennedy of 39 Pearl street, Samuel Adams of 20 Highland avenue and Robert Butler of 49 Taylor street. The lad had been canoeing and when the boat turned over about 50 feet from shore near Jones point they were unable to swim ashore.
Clinging to the sides of the overturned canoe they yelled for help. A group of boys playing ball in the field at the point head their cried. Led by Harold Calkins of 64 Nonotuck street, a former swimming star of Holyoke High school, Howard Dibble, Jr., of 94 Nonotuck street and Max Zyra of 122 Pearl street went to the aid of the youngsters.
Drenched and cold from the water the youngsters were bundled home immediately by their rescuers. Today it was reported that they experienced no ill effects from their experience.
