Interested in Civil War era genealogy but uncertain where to begin?

Genealogist Sara Campbell — who has Holyoke roots — will be presenting tonight at the Chicopee Public Library, Tuesday August 9th at 5:30 p.m.,as part of the Civil War Speakers Series.

The event is entitled “Meet Your Civil War Ancestor” and Sara will be discussing various records and sources that can be used to find information about Civil War soldiers. Using the family of Chicopee resident Richard Wall as a case study, she will illustrate how facts found in government documents can add detail to a name or event and bring a story to light.

This is a great opportunity to learn about resources for genealogy research from an expert!
