Howard G. Farr, 85, of 15 Dexter St. died Wednesday in a Springfield, Vt. Hospital. He was in Vermont visiting a son, Col. Kenneth H. Farr. He was born in Trowbridge, England and had lived in Holyoke most of his life. He worked for B. F. Perkins and sons for 35 years before retirement in 1959. He leaves his wife, the former Nettie Hillman; a daughter, Miss Jean l., American Counsul in Athens, Greece, and three sons, Kenneth of Ludlow, VT, Donald E. of Los Angeles, CA. and Robert L. of Monesson, PA. Alger Funeral Home is in charge, Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Nettie (Hillman) Farr, 87, of San Diego, California, formerly of Dexter Street, Holyoke, died Saturday in San Diego.

Born in Worcester, she was educated in Northampton and was a longtime resident of this city. Her husband, Howard Farr, died in 1969.

She was a past noble grand matron of the Rebeccas of Holyoke and a lifetime member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She moved to Barrington, RI, five years ago to live with her son, and last January moved to San Diego to live with her daughter.

She leaves three sons, Col. Kenneth H. Farr of Barrington, RI; Donald Farr of Grenada Hills, CA; Robert Farr of Monesson, PA, and a daughter, Jean Farr of San Diego.

The funeral will be Wednesday from Edward F. Day funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
