Alderman John P. Bleasius, who was elected president of the Board of Aldermen, will make an excellent presiding officer. Mr. Bleasius has been minority leader for some years, and has at times changed the minority into a majority. He is a strong and forceful speaker and is gifted with a large amount of common sense and his election under the circumstances is the best thing that could happen to the board, although he will be missed from the floor.
