23 January 1927

A double wedding of interest to many Holyoke people will take place February 22 in the ballrom of the Hotel Kimball, Springfield, when the Misses Betty Thelma and Lillian Phyllis Solin, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Solin of 124 Nonotuck Street, Chicopee, will become the brides respectively of Samuel A. and Raymond D. Barger, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Max Barger of 10 Washington Avenue, Holyoke. Dr. Samuel price and Rabbi Lazarus Gorelick will perform the double ceremony in the presence of many relatives and friends of both families from Holyoke, Chicopee and distant places.

The double romance began in Holyoke at a farewell reception at the home of Samuel Solin in honor of Henry Solin who was leaving for Florida. The misses Solin, relatives, were among the guests, as were the Barger brothers, and during the course of the evening the four became acquainted. The engagements were announced last night.

Miss Betty Solin studied at Tufts Medical School after her Chicopee School days and her sister is a graduate of the Elms Academy in Chicopee, class of 1925. Both have been at home since finishing their education. The Barger brothers attended the schools of Holyoke and after graduating from Holyoke High School, entered business with their father, who conducts the Barger Furniture Company on Main Street. Both are members of William Whiting Lodge of Masons.
