Holyoke Girl Swears Out Warrant For Lover

by Laurel | February 5th, 2012

04 February 1922

A warrant was sworn out this morning by Miss Maria D’Annuncicao Dion of 7 Center Street, who complained to the police last night that her lover, Ernest Ferreira, had packed up his belongings and disappeared. She now alleges that he took with him $500 she had saved up against their wedding day, which was to have been next Saturday, and desires him apprehended. Miss Dion visited the detective bureau this morning and told Capt. Cullen that she thought that Ferreira would sail for Portugal. The marriage intentions of the couple were taken out January 10, the man giving his occupation as a carpenter. Miss Dion has been working in a local mill. She kept the money in a trunk in her room.
